# What the Rally MCP is

> Connect an AI agent to your Rally workspace and let it run the program with you.

Rally has a remote [MCP](https://modelcontextprotocol.io) server. Point an MCP client at it and the agent gets the same abilities as a member of your team: it can read your programs, creators, briefs, content, tracking and payouts, and it can make changes.

The server is at your workspace's address:

```text theme={null}
https://app.runrally.io/mcp
```

If you use a custom domain for Rally, the server is at `https://<your domain>/mcp` instead.

## What an agent can do

Anything a person with the same role can do in the app. Some examples:

* Set a new workspace up from your website: brand identity, product knowledge, the first program, briefs and tracking.
* Write and publish a brief, assign it, and chase creators who are behind.
* Review submitted content against the brief and approve or request changes.
* Make AI ads from a brief, run them, and act on the ad optimizer's suggestions.
* Explain the week: who is performing, what is stuck, what earned money, what to do next.
* Prepare payouts for a person to approve.

Every change an agent makes is recorded in your audit log under the key or person it acted as, marked as made over MCP.

## Who can connect one

Anyone with access to **Settings → Agents & MCP** can create an agent key. Only a brand owner can create a key with the owner role, or an autonomous key (one that does not stop for approval). MCP is included on every paid plan.

## How it stays safe

## Two ways to connect

<Tabs>
  <Tab title="Agent key">
    Create a key in **Settings → Agents & MCP** and paste it into your client's config. The agent acts as the key, with the role you gave it. Best for coding agents and anything that runs unattended.

  <Tab title="Sign in with OAuth">
    Add the server URL to a client that supports OAuth and sign in with your Rally account when prompted. The agent acts as you, with your own role in the workspace you choose. Sessions last 24 hours and renew on their own while in use; revoke them under **Connected apps**.
