# Choose how creators earn

> The reward rules a Rally program can use: revenue share, per sale, per signup, per approved post, view milestones, bonuses, product perks and bounties.

Rewards are rules on a program. A program can combine several, so a creator might earn a fee for each approved post and a share of the revenue their link drives. Add them in the program's **Rewards** tab.

## Reward types

| Type | A creator earns |
| - | - |
| **Revenue share** | A percentage of what their referred customers pay, for a set number of months. Choose whether it applies to all paid invoices or subscriptions only. |
| **Per sale** | A fixed amount per sale, optionally only for a customer's first purchase. |
| **Per event** | A fixed amount for an event in your product, such as a signup, usually once per customer. |
| **Per content** | A fixed fee for each post, optionally only once your team has approved it. |
| **View milestone** | A fixed amount when a post reaches a number of views (or another metric) within a time window. |
| **Per view step** | An amount for every step of views, such as every 1,000, up to a cap. |
| **Tiered views** | Increasing amounts as a post passes each tier you set. |
| **Completion bonus** | A one-time amount for a milestone, such as a creator's first published post. |
| **Product perk** | A benefit in your product, such as credits, when a trigger happens, for example finishing a learning path. |

## Bounties

Bounties are one-off challenges with a fixed reward, such as "Publish three posts this month" or "Drive 10 paying customers". Create them in the program's **Bounties** tab. You can schedule, pause or archive a bounty, and Rally pays it when a creator completes it.

## Limit a rule to some content

Open **Applies to** on a rule to limit it to certain formats or platforms, for example a view milestone for short-form video only.

## Change a rule

Rules are versioned. Choose **New version** from a rule's menu to change its amounts or conditions. Earnings already recorded keep the version they were earned under. You can also pause or archive a rule.

## When earnings become available
